Dartmoor Boat Canyon Trail

This past year I have found the importance of staying active. I started with spin classes but found that doing the same type of class was repetitive. I decided to venture out by taking barre, TRX, and yoga classes. All broke the repetition, but being in the gym never could compare to "the great outdoors" (as they say).
Now that I live in Downtown LA, I am surrounded by the "concrete jungle" (as Alicia Keys would say). Buildings on buildings on buildings, occasional smog, and lots of city lights. Don't get me wrong, I would not trade living in LA for the world, but, nothing can replace the place you call home. And in my case, that involves lots of blue (but, not the sad kind).
So this past weekend I spent at home I went on one of my favorite hikes in Laguna Beach. Once you reach the peak the views range from Dana Point all the way to Southern Newport Beach. It is only about twenty minutes to the top and the view is completely worth it (as you can tell). This weekend, I went with one of my best friends and unlike when we take Soulcycle classes, we could talk and laugh (and breathe) as we made our way up the hill. Enjoying hikes like these remind me that staying active means more than just dreading an early morning wakeup call.
